Save the Retro Boudoir: A 1970s Italianate Dream Home in Bromley
It’s up for sale, and I’m absolutely heartbroken. This dreamy, over-the-top 1970s Italianate house - our community’s beloved retro boudoir sweet - is listed at around £2-2.25 million. I can only imagine it being gutted into bland modern minimalism. That’d be a literal crime.
Why It Hurts So Much? It wasn't just a location, it was a character. Tent rose ceilings, peach-pink carpets, gold swan‑faucet jacuzzi, mahogany cocktail bar, ornate pillars, and that heated pool. I never got to professionally step inside, but photographers and creatives I know lived for that space. And now? It’s on the market through JDM Properties as a lavish 5-bedroom, 4-bath home with a sauna, heated pool, and a guide price that reflects its grandeur, somewhere between £2M and £2.25M.
This place was the perfect location home for films and photo shoots. Used across film, TV, and countless editorials, it’s proof that some spaces carry their own drama. You don’t need to over-style or dress it, the interiors already do the work: tented rose ceilings, peach carpets, gold swan taps, Italianate arches. Pure ’70s boudoir energy.

I would love to represent it again, even if it sells. And if someone reading this is a brand-builder, creative investor, or collector of cinematic spaces, I’d happily shepherd it back to life. Imagine preserving this legacy, not erasing it. That’s the only kind of happy ending I want.

Whether it sells, or finds a buyer with taste, I needed to publicly mourn its listing. And if someone out there shares my vision? Inquire. Let me take you through its last look before it disappears into the beige-stack universe.
