A Beautiful Place To Get Lost is the world’s leading retro and unique location agency, representing an archival anthology of iconic, vintage, and architecturally striking properties for film, photo shoots, and events.
While our core client base and production pipeline are rooted in the UK and Europe, we represent locations and work with creative teams on a global scale. We are seeking a Cape Town-based independent contractor to join us as our Global New Business & Bookings Agent, working strictly to UK operational hours (9:30 AM – 5:30 PM UK time, Monday to Friday).
The Role
This is an entrepreneurial, sales, and business development role at its core. We are looking for a sharp, self-starting operator to take full ownership of three key revenue pillars:
Property Onboarding: Scouting properties worldwide that fit within A Beautiful Place To Get Losts niche, from the UK to international markets as well as onboarding property leads passed to you by the founders personal scouting list.
New Business Outreach: Proactively pitching our portfolio to creative decision-makers across production houses, agencies, brands, directors and photographers to build long-term relationships and drive new client pipelines.
Bookings & Briefs: Managing incoming briefs, optioning ideal locations, handling client negotiations, confirming contracts and closing deals swiftly to ensure seamless booking completion.
The role begins with a mandatory two-week in-person onboarding phase in Cape Town working side-by-side with the Founder to master our systems, aesthetic standards, and operational flow, before moving into full remote execution.
What You’ll Own
1. Property Portfolio
Scouting: Seeking out unique, retro, and architecturally iconic properties that fit our distinct niche.
Lead Conversion: Reaching out to location leads delegated by the Founder, pitching the commercial value of working with us, and bringing property hosts on board.
Listing Production: Guiding hosts through onboarding, SEO rich brand tone property copy, organising imagery with an exceptional eye, and publishing listings live to the site..
Host Relationships: Serving as the main contact for hosts, keeping communication effortless, professional, and clear.
2. New Business Relationships Outreach
Proactive Pitching: Identifying and connecting with production decision-makers across key production hubs.
Network Building: Pitching the agency's portfolio to new creative decision-makers to position us as their first-call location resource.
Client Engagement: Formatting and sending our Monthly New Locations Newsletter to our global client database.
3. Bookings & Briefs
Brief Management: Responding to incoming client briefs in a respectable time, optioning ideal locations from our library, and scheduling site visits / recces.
Deal Closing: Issuing quotes, managing negotiations between hosts and production teams, and closing bookings.
Pipeline Organisation: Keeping booking pipelines accurate, follow-ups tight, and open loops closed.
Who You Are
Commercial Drive: Background in sales, business development, agency booking management, media sales, or production coordination. You know how to build a network from scratch and close deals.
Entrepreneurial Mindset: You don't wait for instructions. You love the hunt of finding incredible spaces and turning warm leads into long-term clients.
Aesthetic Standards: Genuine appreciation for architecture & interiors - you get what makes a space iconic.
Sharp & Organised: Administrative details, quick follow-ups, and pipeline organisation come naturally to you.
What We Offer
Base Retainer: Competitive monthly fee (R25,000 – R32,000 ZAR per month dependent on experience, invoiced monthly; contractor is responsible for their own tax compliance/SARS).
Uncapped Commission: Performance commission paid on booking revenue generated monthly.

Working directly alongside the Founder as the agency scales globally.
Role Structure
Role: 12-Month Independent Contractor Agreement
Location: Cape Town base (working remotely across UK & international markets)
Onboarding: In person interviews w/c 26th October, November start date with an initial 2-week in-person onboarding phase in Cape Town
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM UK Time
