HOW DO I LIST MY LOCATION?
For both directories, youโ€™ll need to confirm which subscription package works best for yours and your properties needs, you can then proceed with the registration link.

WHAT FEES DO YOU CHARGE?
We work to a 12-month subscription fee which will be determined once we have discussed which subscription package works best for your needs, we do not charge commission on any bookings generated through our referrals.

WHY DONโ€™T WE TAKE A COMMISSION ON DIRECTORY LISTINGS?
As this is an advertising directory, we donโ€™t handle the bookings, all enquiries come directly to you. Which is why we have a 12 month listing fee.

IS MY HOUSE SUITABLE?
Every house possesses the potential to become a shoot location. WHAT ARE THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER LOCATION HOMES?
The most sought-after locations often reflect a specific period in time or on the contrary, contemporary, bright, pale neutral tones of a minimalist family home that lifestyle & commercial shoots favour. Properties that create the belief it is set abroad without the production having had to pull out their passports can be popular too - as it saves them huge fees on travel. WHAT IF MY LOCATION ISNโ€™T BASED IN THE M25?
A lot of UK-based productions have historically favoured locations inside the M25, this however is now changing as productions are willing to travel further for the right property for their aesthetics. CAN I MANAGE THIS ON MY OWN OR SHOULD I SIGN UP WITH AN AGENCY?
If you are new to the industry and don't have an established shoot location, it is highly recommended to sign up with an agency. To make the process less overwhelming, we have created a definitive guide to prepping spaces for filming & photography E-Guide which hosts a comprehensive list of global agencies that offer film location library services.

Alternatively, we also provide a Location Set Up Service where we handle all the administrative tasks and sign you up with top agencies. As your single point of contact, you won't have to deal with numerous emails from different agencies. This option might be easier if you prefer a more hands-off approach.

By being affiliated with an agency, you can delegate the responsibility of dealing with issues such as insurance, damages, and complaints. The agency serves as the main point of contact between you and the production, streamlining the process and handling any potential conflicts.

Agencies typically charge a commission of 20-30% and may have booking and registration fees. Some agencies offer exclusivity, which means they take a lower commission, but being solely represented by one agency may limit your exposure and market share compared to being represented by multiple agencies or all of them.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE REGISTERED
A clear set of photos to a professional standard showcasing all aspects of the house, including external, parking facilities and entrances. If you do not have this, we can arrange a photographer to come out at an extra cost and if you are opting for our Set Up Services - this comes as part of the package. It is imperative to be as clear as possible in your description, including rooms, parking, nearest public transport and any restrictions and off-bounds spaces on your premises.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Once your submission has been reviewed, we will send you our decision. If we feel itโ€™s a match and suitable for our niche then we will send you our Terms & Conditions to be signed, Location Agreement which will outline fees agreed and commission and a Location Information document so we have all the information we require to best represent your location to the industry. WHY DO YOU RENAME THE PROPERTIES?
In order to ensure the security and privacy of the property owners, we refrain from revealing the actual property name within our location library and travel directory until a booking is officially confirmed with payment. Similarly, the precise property location may be disclosed only after a booking has been confirmed, at which point we provide the complete property address.

ARE THERE ANY REGISTRATION COSTS?
There is no fee to join our location library. 20% commission will be deducted from the location hire fee.

IS THERE A GUARANTEE THAT YOUR LOCATION WILL BE USED?
It's crucial to realize that there are no certainties in this regard. Consequently, it's unwise to regard this as a consistent income source. Rather, consider it as a prospective means for your property to offset its own expenses. Nevertheless, residing in a well-maintained home in a major city increases the likelihood of your property being regularly considered. At times, it may even make it to the shortlist, but there's no assurance of its selection.

HOW MUCH MONEY CAN I EXPECT TO MAKE FROM HIRING OUT MY HOME?
Fees for these opportunities can fluctuate based on various factors, including the size of the client company, the nature of the shoot (whether it involves photography or filming, and whether it's for editorial, commercial, TV, or film), the size of the crew, the expected level of disruption, and the location and type of property you possess. We will always negotiate the absolute best fees for you.
